Commonly referred to as Xenon these powerful lights are in fact Metal Halide. The name Xenide (zen-ide) is derived from the words Xenon, (Xen), an inert gas with cleansing properties used in the arc chamber and Halide (ide), the metal salts added to the arc chamber that vaporize when charged with electricity to create the light plasma.

^{The extreme bright light produced by these searchlights makes target identification and colors easy to distinguish. The focused beam results in more lumens per watt on your target than ordinary high power flashlights. The beam is 3-4' in diameter at 2000' allowing adequate peripheral vision of outlaying areas.}

Unlike ordinary flashlights that use alkaline or metal hydride batteries, Lithium ion batteries hold their charge much longer allowing AE Xenides to be used immediately even after prolonged storage.
