LED Lighting Benefits
LED
stands for Light Emitting Diodes – tiny electronic devices producing
light when electrons flow through them – a highly sophisticated new
technology that provides infinitely more benefits than you can get with
old-fashioned light bulbs.

Technology Tutorial which was created by Lumileds Lighting, the world's
leading manufacturer of high-power LEDs.
Quality – Conventional
bulbs produce a terrible yellow light, with rings and dark spots. That’s
because incandescent bulbs peak in the red range. But LEDs have a spectral
peak in the blue range, producing a pure and intense white light that allows
you to see more. Compare
the light quality
Economy – LEDs use a fraction of the power. Fresh
batteries will power a conventional bulb for a few hours. The same batteries
will power a LED light for a hundred hours. That’s a huge difference
in how many batteries you’ll need to buy. See the savings
Durability – LEDs
aren’t made of glass and have no filaments to break, making them
impact resistant and a lot tougher than conventional bulbs. They
rarely break or need to be replaced.
Dependability – With a life span of over 10,000
hours, you can use one of these lights continuously for a minimum of 11
years. Compare that to a high performance bulb that’ll only give
you 20-40 hours.
Safety – LEDs produce very little heat, require
such a small current and are completely encapsulated, making them infinitely
safer than conventional bulbs.

Luxeon - The Tactical Solution, a tighter light beam. Lumileds Lighting patented the Luxeon Power Light Source. It is
the first to combine the brightness of conventional lighting
with the small footprint, long life and other advantages of LEDs. To learn
